Flotation is a wastewater treatment method in which water and compressed air are mixed in a pressurized dispersion water tank. The water is led through the dispersion water nozzles into the water to be treated, in which case small air bubbles are formed.
The bubbles bind to the chemically generated sludge flocs and rise to the surface. The floating material is collected with a surface sludge scraper and conveyed to the sludge handling unit. The clarified water is then taken for further water treatment.
